Alexis Bittar's Earrings For The Mugler Show Appeared To Be 'Suspended In Air'

Alexis Bittar is a officially a Fashion Week staple. First, he created these amazing peacock earrings for the Phillip Lim show at NYFW. Then yesterday, more one-of-a-kind jewelry by Bittar made its way down the runway at Paris Fashion Week. The jewelry designer teamed up with creative director Nicola Formichetti to create custom accessories for the Mugler show. Bittar told WWD:

This season, the collection for Mugler has a retro Sixties vein to it, so we focused on futuristic physics in jewelry, where sculptural metal is almost kinetically suspended from the body.

Bittar and Formichetti have collaborated a lot of the years – mostly to design custom pieces for Lady Gaga. The standout piece from the Mugler show was a pair of modern metal earrings that looked like they were almost floating. No word yet on whether these unique pieces will be available for purchase (would you wear them?!), but we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
