And Michelle Obama's Inaugural Ball Dress Designer Is ... Jason Wu!

Well, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. We’ve speculated for weeks about which designer would be lucky enough to dress Michelle Obama for the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Ball, and it finally has been revealed as her long-time favorite Jason Wu! MObama chose a custom ruby red velvet and chiffon halter gown from the designer with a hand-made diamond Kimberly McDonald ring embellishment and Jimmy Choo shoes for tonight’s festivities.

Four years ago, FLOTUS went with then little-known designer Jason Wu for her husband’s first Inauguration, making a statement in a custom floor-length white chiffon gown. It was a career-making move for the young designer, who has since become a household name with a Target collaboration and, most recently, a lower-priced Miss Wu line with Nordstrom. It was an interesting twist, as most were predicting a relative unknown. But Michelle and Jason have proven to be a winning equation in the past so we can’t blame her.
