And We Thought We'd Seen It All: Selena Gomez's New Bracelet Is Supposed To Help You Be Healthier

Who knew the abacus would ever be high-fashion?

Last week, Selena Gomez (pictured above) was spotted wearing some pretty rose gold bangles. While they’re definitely cute, they don’t really seem like anything to write home about. Now that I’ve discovered their secret meaning, though, I’m writing home.  The bracelets, made by Count Me Healthy, claim to be “the only beautiful health journal for your wrist.” Weird phrasing, but according to the site, the bangles are like a modern-day abacus, helping you keep track of health goals (like water intake or sweets consumption) or personal goals (like good deeds), by sliding the beads from one side to the other. Hmm. I honestly can’t decide if these are weird or cool. But for all I know, the bracelets will follow the same fate of the Kabbalah string and become the latest in “I may be a celebrity but I swear I’m also spiritual” jewelry. Could this be a trend in the making? Weigh in!
