AOL Unveils New Shopping Site

Full disclosure — I am an AOL alumni. I spent 5 years overseeing editorial products for women in Dulles, VA. So I was interested to hear that America Online has taken the wraps off its new shopping site, inStore, which seeks to compete with Shopping.com, Google’s Froogle.com, and other big-name e-commerce aggregators.

I have to say I’m not impressed – my first search “Jimmy Choo 40” came up with nothing. I narrowed the search to Jimmy Choo and received 2 results, but a weird pop-up blocked the links. When I closed the box I found that they were pointing me to a book and a record album on Jimmy Choo both of which when I clicked through did not exist. There’s 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back…

Stick to froogle.com.
