Apple Just Added U2 To Everyone's iPhone Music Library Via Cloud--WTF?
September 12, 2014
On Tuesday, Apple announced the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus along with the news about Apple watch, but what you didn’t know is that the tech giant also gave you a gift via the mysterious cloud. Check your iTunes library. Do you see anything different? You probably have an entire U2 album of songs you don’t know waiting to be downloaded. Creepy. But what’s even creepier is that EVERYONE who has iTunes access has it.
Apple and U2 have always had a great connection. Remember that black and red iPod that came loaded with U2 songs back in the day? Well, this is the 2014 version. At a press event for the iPhone 6, U2 performed “The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)” from their new album. And after they sang, Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO said, “Wasn’t that the most incredible single you ever heard? We would love a whole album of that,” according to Rolling Stone. Well Tim, we all got one in what is being called the biggest album release of all time.
It’s just a little freaky that Apple has such easy access to all of our phones (probably in the fine print somewhere), but we’re never going to complain about free stuff. So now that you know that you have U2’s entire new album whether you like it or not, will you listen to it? Let us know in the comments below.
