Amazon might have just launched a smartphone that’s better than the iPhone, but Apple has more important things to worry about right now. The brand’s much anticipated smartwatch, or iWatch as the internet has decided to call it, is set to hit this fall. According to The Wall Street Journal, the device will be available in multiple versions with different designs and screen sizes. It will feature more than 10 sensors that can track and monitor data, including how much you have (or haven’t) worked out in the past day, hour, minute, second…you get the idea.
Apple’s rivals, Google and Samsung, have tried and failed to make the smartwatch happen, but something tells us this is a classic case of Gretchen Wieners and ‘Fetch.” The number 2 and 3 people aren’t going to make something popular, only Regina George, who is Apple in this scenario, can.
Now back to all things tech. Industry insiders believe that Apple can launch smartwatches into the mainstream, just like what the iPad did for the tablet. No official launch date is set but watch this space for any updates. Between this and the Fendi x Beats headphones, Holiday 2014 is already shaping up pretty nicely.
