Here’s how the most labor-intensive Beauty Roadtests to date went down:
While prepping for a weekend in Miami (aka the land of double 00’s and silicone), I used the Slimmer Silhouette Body Wrap, which claims to shave as much as 30 inches off in 12 treatments, for 2 treatments. The risks – skin burns, hypothermia, and water damage to wood floors (don’t ask) just to name a few – were pretty scary, but I was already invested.
The 2-hour process went something like this: after blowing the dust off my crockpot, I heated a gallon of water and 1 packet of mystery minerals. I then soaked 12 Ace bandages in the hot concoction and tightly wrapped myself from head to toe. The wrapping itself is not hard – just be careful to measure the water temp (no higher than 125 degrees) before wrapping. (I burned myself a bit the second day – but it didn’t leave a mark.) I then spent 45 minutes doing light aerobics in place – think soaking wet mummy in step class – which was the hardest part. Yes, you might ask yourself “Why?!” as you’re bent over the crockpot, ready to wrap yourself in scalding hot bandages. But it actually works!
After de-wrapping myself I checked my measurements and – hallelujah – had lost up to 1/4 inch from my arms, thighs, hips and waist. The best part was my thighs actually looked smaller; don’t ask me how it works but I was able to enjoy the vacation.
