Beauty Find: Better Brushes
April 10, 2007
What: Vox Makeup Brushes
Why: When I’m too broke for a new pair of shoes, feeling too fat to even think about new jeans, and too much of a spaz to consider dying my own hair, eyeshadow is always there to perk me up. My vast collection is adored and appreciated, yet it took me a long time to invest in a decent set of brushes. I somehow convinced myself that a brush is a brush and the results couldn’t be that different. In fact, they can be. After so many years of buying budget brushes, I’m finally doing my precious eyeshadow collection justice and using Vox brushes.
It’s no surprise that these brushes are gaining a celebrity fan base. Created by former professional MAC makeup artist, Vanessa Gulino, these high quality brushes are made from the finest hair (natural and synthetic) and they don’t shed at all. I even nailed the smoky eye look with the help of Eye Contour Brush 8 ($20).
They’re not cheap (brush sets will run you $199-$305), but you can’t put a price on a perfect smoky eye.
