Because Bobbi Brown Says So
January 11, 2008
Not long ago, the SheFinds ladies attended a Bobbi Brown event. Given that her make-up has long held a special place in our hearts, the chance to meet her in person was quite a big deal. So what did we say when we got the chance to speak? We skipped pleasantries and went straight to picking her brain for beauty advice (wouldn't you?). What we wanted to know was what are the three most important products every woman must have. Here's her answer…
1) Start with a good foundation. I personally adore her tinted moisturizer ($40), but if you're looking for more coverage, consider her Moisture Rich foundation ($40). Both come in a huge range of shades and offer sun protection.
2) You can't have good skin without a good concealer. That's right, naturally flawless skin is like some mythical winged horse–it doesn't exist except in our imagination and in air-brushed magazine ads. To nix undereye circles, arm yourself with the Creamy Concealer Kit ($32), a handy combo that includes the super popular creamy concealer, sheer powder, and a mini powder puff.
3) Bobbi said the third must-have varied from woman to woman, but that it was likely mascara for the lean-lashed or blush for those who don't need help in the lash department. Considering I look like some sort of creature from the underworld without both, I'm upping the number of essentials from three items to four. For an easy way to lash out, try the Everything mascara ($20) and grab some Pot Rouge ($22) for color that works double duty on both cheeks and lips.
Another interesting fact you might not know…what was the very first Bobbi Brown product? A genius lipstick simply called Brown that Bobbi created to mimic the color of real lips. Years later, that first color looks just as good (and you can get it at Nordstrom).
Deal Alert: If you're planning to stock up on Bobbi's goodies, buy them all at Nordstrom. You'll get a free blush with purchases of $85 or more while supplies last.
