Introducing, The Orange Tote That Saved Me Throughout New York Fashion Week

Even the houndstooth carpet is ready for fall.

Ever wish you could test drive something before actually buying it? My PR friend over at Banana Republic let me do just that with this orange tote, seen above. It survived Fashion Week, despite the fact that I spilled…

Kristin tote, in black, gray, orange and tan ($130 at Banana Republic, plus free shipping)

An entire bottle of water (the huge Starbucks kind that costs $4) in the tote on my way to a lunch with Salma Hayek (name dropping, I know, but soon I’ll tell you about her awesome beauty line and you’ll be happy I did). Back to the water: I didn’t realize it until I felt a slight leaking–had to stop, unload the goods that were previously very neatly packed in, and dump out the water in a trash can while upscale shoppers in the Time Warner Center gawked. So I will probably end up buying one, not only b/c I love it, but since Banana Republic will probably want me to return one in good shape. Anyway!

The tote looked cool with every single thing I wore during fashion week, and, if I do say so myself, held its own against all of the heavy-hitting “IT” bags seen at the shows. It was large enough to carry a water, a Daily fashion week magazine, an umbrella, and even to stash my blazer on a day when it was way too hot for one, even though my outfit looked better with it on.

Tell us: What do you think of the bag?
