Benefit's Lollitint Cheek Stain Just Might Be The Best Blush I've Ever Used

I am a blush addict! On those days when I have no time and can only spare a few seconds to put on the bare minimum makeup, I always put on blush. It honestly transforms my face. It makes my skin look brighter and more awake and really, every woman should own a good go-to rouge.

Given my love affair with blush, it should come as no surprise that I own quite a few. I love L’Oreal’s Visible Lift Blur Blush and tarte’s Maracuja Blush, but my new jam is Benefit’s Lollitint. Unlike my other faves, Lollitint is actually a cheek stain which makes it a little tricky to use, but is definitely worth mastering because the color it delivers is divine.

First things first, this blush has a consistency that most resembles lip gloss. It’s not sticky, but it’s definitely liquid-y, which isn’t actually all that surprising given that it doubles as a lip stain. My go-to application strategy is to smile, schmear a swipe on the apple (aka chubbiest part) of one cheek then blend and pat with my fingers. It’s important to do only one cheek at a time because this stuff dries quickly and if you try to blend it once it’s already started to dry it can look streaky. Once you’ve perfected the first cheek, then repeat on the other. Important note: resist the urge to apply more right away. This stuff definitely intensifies as it dries and sets into your skin, so give it some time to marinate.

After a few minutes, you’ll start to get that amazing rosy flush and this is the best part–it really lasts all day long! And your cheeks don’t get shiny or oily because unlike cream formulas, this is a super lightweight stain. If you get at all oily in the summer, you have to try this blush!
