Wellness Wednesday: 4 Ways To Get In Cardio If You Hate Running

Ask any doctor or trainer and they’ll tell you just how important cardio is in your routine. Not only does it increase your heart rate to burn fat ,but it also increases your metabolism. When most people think cardio, they immediately think running, but let’s be real: does anyone really enjoy running?

Luckily, there are other great ways to incorporate cardio into your workout without having to stay on a treadmill for miles. Here are a few to try:

Rowing. Rowing machines simulate watercraft rowing without having to be on a boat. Not only does it get your heart rate pumping, but its also a great upper and lower body workout.

Jumping Rope. This childhood pasttime is also a great cardiovascular workout. The best part is that it can be done anywhere and is very travel-friendly.

Burpees. This exercise includes cardio, core training and resistant training for a full body workout that is sure to burn calories.

Weighted Jumping Jacks. You probably haven’t thought about these since gym class in school, but doing jumping jacks with a 10 pound weight will elevate your heart rate and provide strength training.
