Ignoring the No-White Before Memorial Day rule, more than a handful of Hollywood and fashion’s finest showed up at the Met Gala in pure white. The white-hot highlights include: Emma Watson in Burberry, Diane Kruger in a modest Calvin Klein creation, Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte for Gap, Gwen Stefani in L.A.M.B., Tory Burch, and Taylor Swift in Ralph Lauren Collection.
Another hot trend of the night was this gold-meets-shimmer-meets gunmetal look. The stars who wore serious bling, and we don’t mean the Van Cleef kind, included Brooke Shields in Michael Kors, Nicole Richie in Marc Jacobs, Claire Danes in Burberry, Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera, Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior, and Demi Moore.
Navy replaced basic black- at least for Spring – as shown by Melanie Trump looking fierce in Christian Siriano, Abbie Cornish in Louis Vuitton, and Sienna Miller in Emilio Pucci (who showed up with Jude Law!) and Mariska Hargitay.
