Summer means vacations for lots of people and we are not mad about that. But sometimes, staying on track with your fitness goals while traveling can be hard, especially if your destination doesn’t have an easy to access gym. Luckily, there are still ways to get in a workout no matter where you are. Here are a few workouts to try when you’re away from home.
Take a run or walk. This is the easiest way to incorporate some cardio into your vacation. If you’re headed to a beach locale, try doing these activities in the sand to add some intensity.
Pack a jump rope. Adding this very travel-friendly equipment to your suitcase has so many benefits. Did you know that jump roping for just 10 minutes is almost equivalent to running an 8-minute mile? This is also a great workout if you have kids since they can join in on the fun.
Resistance training. Don’t go on your next trip without packing a resistance band. There are so many workouts (like lateral band walks or push-ups) you can do with just this one item and the perk is that most of them can be done right in your hotel room.
Go for a dip. Swimming is also great and an easy way to burn some extra calories as it counts as both cardio and strength training. Do some kicks or laps while you’re in the pool and it won’t even feel like you are working out.
Make sure to try one of these the next time you’re on vacation so you don’t feel awful when you’re back at the gym. Plus, you’ll feel less guilty of all the yummy food you eat during your trip.
