Best In Show: 2007’s Most Innovative Designs

February 22, 2008 by SheFindsCatesby

Travel + Leisure magazine recently announced the winners of its 2008 Design Awards, which recognize outstanding design in various travel-related categories. You don't have to be a nomad to appreciate many of these products, though: innovation is impressive any time. Here's a sampling of some of my favorite Design Award winners:

This Simply Vera Vera Wang Anorak jacket (was $88 now $61) won in the "Best Travel Gear" category because it's wrinkle-resistant, easy to pack, and pretty darned good-looking. I love the low-slung waist and generous pockets.

Louis Vuitton's Monogram Waterproof Keepall ($2,030) can be snowed on, rained on, and even fully submerged (if you should, say, get shipwrecked–or just decide to take a swim with your luggage in hand). Really, though, it'll keep your belongings dry on your next ski trip to Aspen when they toss your bags from the plane into the blizzard.

This Samsung NV15 digital camera ($159.19) is the size of a pocket-protector and has special technology to increase zoom potential and reduce shaking. It takes digital photos as beautiful as your old Nikon manual did.
