While you’re working on that bikini bod for Memorial Day (and trying our top 10 fashion dares), there’s just one more thing that you need to conquer: Body Hair. We spoke with Michelle Moyer, Co-Owner of Pulse Laser & Skincare Center, on some do’s and don’ts when it comes to hair removal. While the obvious options include shaving, waxing, bleaching, and electrolysis, Moyer suggests that laser hair removal is best for those who often suffer from ingrown hairs or razor burns. She notes, “You’re left clean and smooth with no irritation – And the results are permanent!” But for those that prefer to stick with the razor, Moyer advises,
Make sure your razor is fresh and that the area has been prepped with a shaving cream or shaving oil. After you are done shaving, you can use a gentle astringent to keep the area clean and free of bacteria.
The target area every woman should focus on when removing unwanted fuzz? The bikini area. There’s also underneath the arms and your stomach line. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Trust us, we are too! Luckily, we came up with our top choices for hair removal for whichever method you prefer. Once you’re as smooth as baby’s bottom, keep in mind Moyer’s number one tip:
STOP picking at ingrown hairs! Yes, they can be painful and irritating, but nothing is worse than a scar from an ingrown hair, which can often be permanent.
