Black Friday Tips: Buyer Beware

Even we can admit that there are certain times when you simply must leave the house and brave the crazy crowds. We’ve put together some tips for you to make the excursion, if not pleasant, at least manageable.

Black Friday does not mean that retailers are just dying to give you the best deal, so comparison shop, and see whose really got the best deal for you.

If you’re determined to get your paws on one of those supersaver, “door-busters” vouchers, you’ll have to be in the front of the line. This will most likely entail camping out, so bring blankets, booze and buddies. You’re in for a long night.

A tip from a Consumerist reader advises placing a sticky note on your item(s) of choice that says, “hold for (insert your name and phone #), and coming back later, after the crazy rush is over, to pay for it.

Hmmm, that sounds really nice, but with people robbing and shooting each other over a video game, I’m not so confident that the power of the post it will be respected.
