Blazer Vests: What To Wear When It's Too Dang Hot To Put Sleeves On Your Body
July 18, 2014
A few weeks ago, we probably would’ve blown off this trend and considered it something that only the Olsen twins could pull off, but now, we’re seeing what we like to call “blazer vests” everywhere. Here in New York, there are tons of gals who have to wear suits and blazers to work, but news flash: it’s just too dang hot for that right now! So instead of getting their #girlbosses in a tizzy and showing up underdressed and drenched in sweat, corporate chicks are turning to blazer vests so they can survive in this concrete
But these minimalist pieces aren’t just for the 9-fivers. Anyone can pull them off. You can wear these vests anywhere that you would wear a blazer, now you just won’t sweat your booty off. Pair it with a crop top and a mini skirt and you’re ready for the club, or wear it over a dress and you’re ready for a date night or special occasion. You can even throw one on with boyfriend jeans, if you want to be more comfy and casual. Sounds like a great idea to me.
While we have been drooling over Rag & Bone’s Ines Vest ($450), we were able to find similar versions at every price point, so there’s really no excuse not to try one out. Who knows? It could become your outwear go-to. But before you go slicing the sleeves off your favorite blazer in a heat rage, check out all the options in our slideshow. It’ll probably be easier to buy one, unless you’re really into that DIY type of stuff.
