Body Flaw Fixer: Superlong Sparkle Tanks
August 18, 2008
What: Sparkle Strappy Tanks ($12, two for $20)
Why: I know, I know, I wrote about my beloved Sparkles less than a month ago, but I didn’t get the chance to fully extol the torso-lengthening virtues of this wondertank.
Basically, I learned early on (approximately three days after I started picking out my own clothes) that my torso is essentially nonexistent. When I find myself on a subway during rush hour, I stare enviously at all those business-casual women who look perfectly lean and proportioned in their trousers and button-downs and skinny belts – because a tucked-in look like that cuts at the widest part of my hip and makes me look like an oompa-loompa.
Thank goodness for Sparkle tanks. They’re really long, but not tunic-long, so the world sees your entire leg, plus a much-elongated version of your middle. They’re made of a cotton-polyester blend, so the fabric is clingy enough to show off curves, but not slinky and unforgiving and terrible. And I will mention, once more, the utter affordability and wide color selection. Good decisions all around.
