When fall arrives, it’s black boots galore. Seriously, everyone thinks that they have enough pairs but then a new style comes along and that idea flies out the window. By the time you can come back to your senses, you’ve already added that new boot to your online cart, purchased, and oh! It’s already at your doorstep. Thanks, UPS! So when we spotted this simple black boot with a pretty badass gold chain, this particular writer instantly fell in love—and instantly bought said boot. And then I noticed that this beloved look had to have come from somewhere else. After some research, not one, now two, but three similarly designed boots were discovered at three very different price points. So this calls for a special Taste Test times THREE! Which of these gold chain boots is the most expensive? Which one is the least expensive? And which one falls right in the middle?

Answer: From left to right (and from high to low), we have Givenchy‘s Curb Chain Ankle Boot ($1,550), KG Kurt Geiger‘s Strike ankle boot ($245), and To Be Announced‘s Robbery Ankle Boot ($190). I think it’s safe to say that out of this bunch Givenchy came up with this style first, which is featured in his Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Did you guess correctly? Which pair would you purchase?
