Casadei And Prabal Gurung’s Third Collaboration Is Military Inspired

February 10, 2013 by Justine Schwartz

For the third season in a row, Casadei and Prabal Gurung have teamed up on the shoes for Prabal’s ready to wear collection. The Fall 2013 line, which is inspired by “war themes,” just debuted at New York Fashion Week, and includes army green and black sandals in calfskin, patent and croc, with buckle details and a stiletto heel. There is also a thigh-high boot version that looks ready for battle. A rep for Casadei has confirmed that the styles will be shoppable in late August on Casadei’s new eCommerce site.

Gurung told Style.com that the objective of their latest endeavor was to make “utilitarian, masculine footwear feminine and sexy,” while Cesare Casadei added that they, “Took elements from the military wardrobe, like linear knee-high boots with gold straps and buckles, and interpreted these details in extremely feminine styles.”

You can now pre-order the Spring 2013 collection, which includes dip-dyed wedges and an update of Casadei’s ‘Blade’ style, and the neon and mesh Pre-Fall 2013 collection was inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, which took place in Miami.
