Diamond retailing (and wholesaling and mining) giant De Beers just settled a multimillion dollar class action suit that may entitle you to partial refunds on any diamonds purchased in the US or for delivery in the US between January 1, 1994 and March 31, 2006.
If you bought your baubles from any company other than De Beers or a De Beers affiliate, you're eligible to file a claim – click here for information about how to do it.
Jewelry or other items that cost less than $95 are unlikely to garner any reimbursement, but according to the website for claimants, you could get up to $640 for a $2,000 ring, depending upon how many other people file. So maybe keep this one to yourself at the next baby shower.
The final day to submit a claim is May 19.
