What: James Jeans, $185
Who: Oprah hailed them “the perfect jean,” and Jennifer Aniston is a reported fan, as well.
Last night my editor and I attended a press event for James Jeans in SoHo. Ladies, this line is hot, hot, hot, and there are so many great items for spring we don’t know where to start: an off-white jean that gets its hue from mixing cement and old newspapers (trust us, it’s gorgeous!), an eco-line which is 100% earth-friendly in creation and dye process, skorts, and even a denim dress that will be a must-have in our wardrobes.
As someone who is waging the Battle of the Bulge, I usually attend these types of events with dread. Although I’m currently down 70 lbs, I avoid trying things on because nothing embarrasses me more than admitting to a whole room full of fashion and PR people (who are always model thin) that you can’t fit into their clothes. When handed a pair of James Jeans, I just shrugged and took them into the dressing room, convinced I would suffer the same fate. Not this time. Not only did the jeans fit fabulously, but they slimmed me down and boosted me up in all the right places. I would like to introduce you to my new best friend, the Hector Five Pocket Boot Leg ($185).

Editor's Note: It's true! Kristin looked nothing short of va-va-voom in these threads. I also picked up a pair of Tom Straight Legs ($189), and I've hardly taken them off since. Over two days, they've survived trick-or-treaters, two mad dashes through the park to get a late halloween costume to school, and dinner with the in-laws. Amazingly, they still look great and fit like the first time I put them on–no annoying stretching or sagging. Check out the full details of their Spanx-esque technology here!
