Whether you’re stuck inside due to Hurricane Sandy, or you just need a good art project to keep your creative self busy, we have some fun decor ideas for you. DO something with those pumpkins you forgot to carve. Chic, no-carve pumpkins that require little more than patience and a trip to the craft store. Think you can manage? Here we go.
- Visit the grocery store/pumpkin patch/anywhere that sells pumpkins and buy a few in varying sizes.
- Take a trip to your local craft store and pick out acrylic paints and stick-on jewels and/or studs in your desired palette – we’re fans of a black, grey, metallic motif.
- Once home, paint each pumpkin in your desired shade. Let dry. Paint second coat. Let dry.
- Begin bejeweling! For a “dripped” look (like the grey pumpkin pictured above) apply stones in a concentrated cluster around the stem of the pumpkin, becoming more and more spread out as you move away from the stem. For the geometric look (à la the black pumpkin pictured above), take inventory of how many studs you have and use those elementary math skills to come up with a pattern. Don’t feel limited to those looks either, be inspired; get creative!
Look how easy that was, you crafty girl! In four steps, you created an enviable Halloween decoration that all of your friends will fawn over. Mission accomplished.
