Chrissy Teigen Wants You To Stop Asking Her This Question
September 17, 2015
While filming an episode for their new talk show FABLife, models Chrissy Teigen and Tyra Banks got very honest about issues they’ve had with starting a family. Chrissy opened up about her fertility struggles and how she hates when people ask her when she’s going to have kids.
Chrissy said in the episode clip, “Every single time I sit down for an interview with anybody…I will say, just being two years into being married, the questions just come from all over. It’s kind of crazy because I can’t imagine being that nosy to be like ‘So, when are the kids coming?’ because who knows what somebody’s going through.”
She went on to reveal that her and husband John Legend have been having trouble getting pregnant, and they’ve even seen fertility doctors. “John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened. But my gosh, it’s been a process.” She went on to add, “So, anytime somebody asks me if I’m going to have kids, I’m like, ‘One day, you’re going to ask that to the wrong girl who’s really struggling, and it’s going to be really hurtful to them,’. And I hate that. So, I hate it. Stop asking me!”
The positive thing to come out of Chrissy opening up about her struggle is that other women have come forward and shared their story. Like Tyra Banks, for instance. She revealed her own struggles with conceiving and got so emotional that she began to cry. “It’s so funny when I was 23 years old, I used to tell myself, ‘In three years, I’m going to have kids.’ Then I turned 24. ‘In three years, I’m going to have kids. Every single year I kept saying that. And then after a while it’s like, ‘Okay, now I want to.’ And it’s not so easy,” she admitted.
