Christian Louboutin Is Launching Nail Polish! And The Bottles Are Stilleto-Inspired, Obvs
July 23, 2014
The story holds that Christian Louboutin‘s red-bottomed shoes were born when the designer painted the bottom of the original pair with nail polish, so it only makes sense that he would launch a nail collection of his own.
Today, WWD broke the news that Louboutin has officially entered the beauty biz and that his first red polish, Rouge Louboutin, is now available in the Saks Fifth Avenue Store in NYC. But don’t worry, even if you don’t live in the Big Apple, you’ll still be able to get your hands (or should we say nails) on a bottle. On August 6th, all Saks stores will carry the polish along with Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom and Sephora. The other 30 color shades in the collection will be available on August 31.
Just like owning a pair of his stilletos, Louboutin’s nail polish will cost you a pretty penny. Each tall, spikey bottle will cost you $50, and if you purchase the extra care kit, you’ll be out another $55. But, that’s not terrible considering you’ll be able to brag that your nail polish “is Louboutin” and the bottle itself looks like it belongs in an art gallery, not in your bathroom cabinet or cosmetics bag. Now that’s what we call luxury beauty.
If you want to purchase Rouge Louboutin, head over to the Saks flagship in NYC today, otherwise, click over to our site on August 6. We will have it right here. Let the waiting game begin!
