3 Life-Changing Detox Products Everyone Should Take To Flush Toxins For Summer–I Tried Them!

May 3, 2021 by Justine Schwartz

Doing a juice cleanse can be beneficial for resetting your eating habits, and sipping detox tea before bed is good for losing water weight and getting a flat stomach fat–but boy, are they hard. Detox bath products are so much more fun! While detox drinks can make your tummy hurt and cause cramping, and drinking only juice for three days gets old faster than you can say “celery juice,” detoxing bath and body products are just pure heaven. Amirite?

If you’re daunted by detox diets, but want to flush impurities and remove pollutants from your body, you’re not alone. Luckily, there are countless “detox” products available on the beauty market these days that allow you to eliminate toxins and re-texturize skin–and actually enjoy it.

Drawing a yummy CBD detox bath is way more appealing than sip nasty tea, and these products–from bath salts to body oil–are a big mood. I’m a beauty editor, and I’ve tried each of them to determine if you really can flush toxins and improve the quality of your skin by soaking yourself in them. Heck, they’re even super relaxing and give you a mental refresh as well. I don’t know who needs to hear this, but they would make great Mother’s Day gifts, too. Here’s everything you need to know:

The Feelist Staycation

This detoxifying salt soak ($58) is infused with 125mg Broad Spectrum CBD, so its super relaxing and great for sore muscles in addition to the (classic definition) of detoxifying. The blend of Himalayan, Epsom and Maris Salts cleanse skin, promote detoxification, reduce inflammation and reduce water retention. If you want to get your body--and mind--right for summer, this should be your very first stop. The hemp derived cannabinoids calms and soothes skin, and lavender and vanilla essential oils use aromatherapy to improve your mood.

I did the 'Staycation' soak on a Sunday evening after a very busy weekend with the kids (and a big boozy dinner with friends), and boy did my body need it. It calmed my muscles and released some tension in my neck/shoulders. I drank a big glass of water before to help aid with the detoxification process. The scent was very low-key, which is perfect for me because I don't like overwhelming smells. I would say that this should be more of a regular part of my bath routine, rather than just an occasional indulgence.

Amala Detoxifying Body Glow Oil

This Body Glow Oil ($78) is a lightweight-but-rich cold-pressed botanical oil blend I just discovered--and can't recommend more. Coconut, Jojoba and Hemp Seed Oils promote detoxification, softer skin and firmness. I tried "a few drops" of this organic oil on my skin after a shower, and it was so yummy and instantly hydrating. It soothed some angry, red skin I had on my chest from getting a little too much skin exposure that day. In studies, 95% of participants saw smoother texture, and 85% saw hydrated skin. I can understand why it has "glow" in the name, my skin felt dewey after using. You can also pick up a Body Glow Kit that comes with a shaping cream and a smoothing polish from the brand for $128.

Goop G.Tox Detox 5 Salt Bath Soak

This 5 salt detox bath soak ($35) cleanses skin from pollutants and other environmental factors. It contains glacial marine clay and activated charcoal that cleanse skin, remove impurities and leave you feeling refreshed (especially thanks to the peppermint essential oil in it!). I tried this charcoal soap on a busy week night and was instantly transported to a place of relaxation where Gwyneth Paltrow must live all the time. Just add hot water, and this yummy bath soak will give you new life.
