CVS is basically a no-brainer when it comes to getting some solid deals on our

Drugs I know, surprising right? (You know, considering CVS is a DRUGstore and all.) However, it actually turns out that both over-the-counter medications like Advil and Tylenol as well as prescription meds are way cheaper when you purchase them at other stores with pharmacies like Wal-Mart, Target and Costco, according to studies done in 2013 by Consumer Reports. In fact, CVS was found to have the highest prices of all drugstores in the study.

Groceries We've all been there: you're picking up mascara and shampoo at CVS on your way home from work when you realize you need cereal for tomorrow morning too. While it's tempting to make CVS your one stop and grab your groceries while you're there too, you'll probably be overspending - most drugstores charge much higher prices for food and grocery items, including CVS.

Cleaning Supplies Much like with food, CVS tends to mark up prices on cleaning supplies, including things like laundry detergent. You're much better off hitting the grocery store or Target the next time you need stain remover or dishwashing soap.

Salon Hair Products If you're buying salon haircare products at CVS (we're talking brands like Paul Mitchell and Bumble and Bumble), you're getting into some dicey territory. Just like counterfeit bags, counterfeit beauty products exist - and if the salon haircare at CVS is even real, it's probably defective or past its expiration date. It's always worth it to buy from a salon instead to ensure you're getting the real deal.

Small Appliances Unless you're in a serious pinch and need a new coffee maker or toaster stat, you're better off going elsewhere for small home appliances. If your local CVS even carries them, it's likely that they won't carry a very wide range of brands or high-quality options.
