Most brides have a budget they need to consider when planning their wedding day. And while there’s nothing wrong with finding ways to save, there are certain things you shouldn’t try to cut corners on for your special event. So before you do those final calculations with your fiancé and parents (if they’re chipping in), take a look at these seven things it’s worth spending money on for wedding day.

1. Hair & Makeup

"Brides spend so much on the dress, food, venue, veil, photographer and flowers, but don’t want to spend anything on their beauty services," says Mindy Green of MG Beauty. "Long after the day is over, those photos of their face/hair will remain."

2. Wedding Photographer

According to Meggie Francisco of Meggie Francisco Events, couples should never be cheap when it comes to hiring their wedding photographer. "You'll spend more time with this person than with anyone else on your wedding day, so it needs to be someone who's professional and makes you feel confident on camera. Inexperienced photographers are also more likely to produce dated photo styles that you'll hate later."

3. Entertainment

Music is such an important part of the wedding day, so you want to hire a pro that knows what they're doing. "Looking back on their day, most couples wish they would have allocated more of their money/time/researching on a great DJ," says Tony Schwartz of Tony Schwartz Wedding MC & DJ. "The reception is a celebration of your marriage, but it truly a chance for family and friends to come together and have a really fun evening.

4. Transportation

This might seem like one of those "throwaway" tasks for the wedding day, but believe it, you want to book a reliable transportation company for your wedding day travel, says Sarah Rodgers of Divine Limousine. "Finding the best limousine service to make your wedding day perfect and fit all of your needs is essential, and should never be overlooked."

5. Day-Of Coordination

"It's always important to delegate all tasks on the day of the wedding so you and your family can enjoy the event," says Amy McCord Jones of Flower Moxie. "Brides often feel someone else will just handle a crisis, an unexpected situation, or be the answer to any question that arises, however, that is rarely the case. Without a day-of coordinator, all vendors will go directly to the bride or her mother."

6. Undergarments

Dawn Mumaw of Hourglass Lingerie explains that while brides will spend hundreds--maybe thousands--on a dress that fits them perfectly, and then will put on their everyday undergarments instead of finding the right bra and underwear for the big day. "Getting a proper bra fitting for this special day is so important, because the dress is as perfect as the lingerie underneath!  Once they have gotten a proper fitting, their breasts will be lifted and completely in their bras without any spillage and creating a beautiful waistline  and silhouette."

7. Catering

Francisco warns couples of trying to cut corners with the wedding day food. "Your favorite barbecue restaurant may seem like a great deal when they tell you it's a quick and easy setup, but who's going to stick around to pick up all the dirty dishes and cups? Make sure to invest properly in a sufficient number of catering staff members for a professional start and finish to your wedding experience."
