Amanda Seyfried was just photographed on the set of “The Dropout” where she will star as controversial tech entrepreneur, Elizabeth Holmes, and the 35-year-old actress looked vastly different from her typical effortlessly relaxed self. The series, which is set to air on Hulu just began filming, and Seyfried was spotted on set donning Holmes’ classic black turtleneck and bleach blonde locks which have become integral into her look.

In behind-the-scenes photos from set, Seyfriend can be seen wearing a black turtleneck, dark sunglasses, and a pair of loose fitting sweatpants, tied together by some silver sandals. According to Variety, SNL star Kate McKinnon was initially tapped to play the role of the tech sweetheart turned convicted criminal, but backed out in February with Seyfried taking her place in March.

The show will depict the story of Elizabeth Holmes who was charged with fraud in March 2018 after she allegedly defrauded investors of her medical start-up company, Theranos, for more than $700 million. The US Securities and Exchange Commision brought forth the charges, and Holmes was eventually indicted on nine counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Holmes was initially lauded as the “Steve Jobs” of her generation, but things went south when the medical testing technology was revealed to not actually be functional. Theranos touted the ability to perform rapid medical blood tests, so when it emerged that the technology was a scam, the lives of thousands of users who depended on the company were put at risk.

Not only will Seyfried, who shares the same doe eyed gaze as Holmes, star in the upcoming series, but she is also set to act as a producer on the project as well. No release date has been announced for “The Dropout” but it appears that filming is well underway with Seyfried donning the classic Holmes’ outfit as the female Steve Jobs.
