Anna Faris has a lot to be thankful for this holiday season following a carbon monoxide scare in a North Lake Tahoe cabin. The 43-year-old actress faced the frightening emergency around the Thanksgiving holiday and quickly took to social media to share her thanks for first responders’ prompt response.
“I’m not quite sure how to express gratitude to the north Lake Tahoe fire department–we were saved from carbon monoxide- it’s a stupidly dramatic story but I’m feeling very fortunate,” Faris tweeted on Nov. 29. Faris was at the snowy North Lake Tahoe cabin celebrating the holiday alongside family.

The North Lake Tahoe fire department took to Twitter to reply to Faris’ grateful tweet: “So #thankful for a happy ending to this #carbonmonoxide #co incident. Never assume you are safe, check your alarms whenever you #Travel!”
According to KTLA, firefighters entered the cabin and evacuated Faris and her family, where they found carbon monoxide levels that were five times what’s recommended indoors. North Lake Tahoe Fire official Erin Holland told KTLA’s sister station KTXL that the carbon monoxide levels would have certainly “caused fatality in a short period of time” if it was left unaddressed.
Faris was quite a distance from her usual Los Angeles home during the emergency. 2019 Thanksgiving marked the third Thanksgiving since she announced her split from ex-husband Chris Pratt. The former couple share 7-year-old son Jack together. Faris now dates cinematographer Michael Barrett.
According to US Weekly, 40-year-old Pratt celebrated Thanksgiving with his new wife Katherine Schwarzenegger and son Jack at Schwarzenegger’s mother Maria Shriver’s house. Pratt brought son Jack to Shriver’s house on Saturday, November 30 to celebrate family game night.
Schwarzenegger expressed her own gratitude for Pratt via Instagram. “Coming up on Thanksgiving week and feeling so thankful and excited to be with my family and loved ones. I know this week comes with a lot of mixed feelings for people about returning home, traveling and missing loved ones. Everyone needs a little extra love as they navigate their way through this time,” Schwarzenegger wrote.
Luckily, Faris got some extra love and care this holiday season thanks to the North Lake Tahoe Fire department.
