Anne Hathaway is without a doubt one of Hollywood’s most private celebs. But, now the star is opening up about something very personal–anxiety.
The Ocean's Eight actress got candid in a recent interview with Town & Country Magazine's Feb. 2019 issue, where she revealed that her glamorous A-list status doesn't leave her exempt from stress and pressure. In fact, it magnifies it.
But Hathaway says that she's found a creative way to manage her stress, calling Instagram one of her favorites outlets to relieve her anxiety because it allows her to “calm down and communicate” better with her fans.
"Having the ability to do something on my own terms has been good for me. It has allowed me to calm down and communicate in a way that’s more clear,” she told the magazine.
Not a social media fan? Hathaway says there's another way your phone can help you move on from a stressful situation.
“Set a timer on your phone, have a candle nearby, and write it all down. You spew it out. You do not read it. The timer goes off, you tear it out of the book, and you light it on fire. All of this energy, this angst, this rage — everything is smoke,” she shared.
The star admitted that living in the limelight is hard, but she admitted that she still feels "lucky" to have the career she does. In fact, she says that the successes she's had in her 20-year career don't always seem real to her.
"A part of me just has to be aware that whatever it’s asking me of me, I’m incredibly lucky to be the one who’s being asked,” she said.
Thankfully, Hathaway has a good support system behind her and says that she draws on the strength of other women in the industry when she needs a boost. “You just believe that more is possible," she continued. "You’re a little bit braver and you want to dig a little bit deeper, you know?"
