While the annual Cannes Film Festival’s purpose is to showcase the greatest talent in film from around the world, the fashion on the red carpet is always groundbreaking. It’s become one of the biggest week’s in fashion, with celebrities hitting the red carpet in dramatic ensembles that put the big-screen to shame.
This year’s Cannes looks proved less can definitely be more, with thigh-high slits, sheer fabric, and barely-there dresses taking center stage. We can’t get enough of the daring ensembles and rounded-up some of our festival favorites below:
Eva Longoria stunned in an asymmetrical, pastel pink gown by Alberta Ferretti. The triple-threat combination of a thigh-high slit, plunging neckline, and one-shoulder design had heads turning, while the sparkly sequins and muted tone kept things chic.

Alessandra Ambrosio also opted for the barely-there dress trend, as she turned up the red carpet heat by wearing this thigh-grazing dress by Julien Macdonald. She balanced the fiery look with ethereal confidence and energy, in true Victoria’s Secret Angel form.
Winnie Harlow brought her Fashion A-Game to Cannes, wearing a black sheer gown by Ralph & Russo. The supermodel stunned in the body-hugging dress complete with a leather-textured belt and ornate gem-embellishments.
Bella Hadid is no stranger to showing some skin on the red carpet, but her recent appearance at Cannes really amped it up. All eyes were on Bella, as she stepped out in a bold, thigh-high design by Roberto Cavalli. The asymmetrical cut, jeweled neckline, and daring cutouts stole the show.
Rita Ora put her own twist on the barely-there dress trend with the curve-hugging design she wore her Magnum x Rita Ora event at Cannes. The crisp white color palette, cleavage-baring neckline, and fuzzy heels had Ora channeling a modern-day Marilyn Monroe aesthetic, and we are so here for it!
