15 Delicious Cocktail Recipes You Should Try This Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day isn’t technically the last day of summer, but it sure is a symbolic end to the season, isn’t it? You’re probably gearing up for an epic weekend with friends–or at least I hope you are–and in search of some festive ways to celebrate the holiday that will be equal parts homage to your #bestsummerever, and also a delicious way to drown your sorrows that it’s ending. If you’re searching for drinks that will make you feel no pain to the end of summer Fridays, look no further than this immaculately researched list (aka, I drank a lot). Without further ado:

Blood Orange Spritzer 

1.5 oz. JAJA Reposado

12 oz. fresh lime juice

2 oz. Blood Orange Puree

Top with Soda

Hibiscus Cocktail

Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG

Whole hibiscus flowers, packed in syrup

8 tsps of hibiscus syrup used to pack the flowers

Place a whole hibiscus flower in the bottom of glass. Fill glass with Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG to ¾” of the rim. Carefully spoon 2 tsps of the hibiscus syrup down the interior side of each glass.

Watermelon Rosé Cooler

 

1 1/2 parts EFFEN Rosé Vodka
1 part watermelon juice (or muddled watermelon)
1/2 parts fresh lemon juice
1/4 parts agave syrup
Shake well & build over ice. Garnish with watermelon.

CRUZAN Watermelon Daiquiri

1 part Cruzan® Watermelon Rum
1 part DeKuyper® Pucker® Watermelon Schnapps
Splash of Lemon-Lime Soda
2 parts Sour Mix
Build over ice, blend until smooth. Garnish with a watermelon slice.

Cinna-Coco Colada

Mount Gay Rum Black Barrel - 2oz

Almond Milk - 1.5oz

Coconut Cinnamon Syrup - .5oz

Fresh Lemon Juice - .5oz

Angostura Bitters - 2 dashes

 

Add Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, Almond Milk, Coconut Cinnamon Syrup, and Fresh Lemon Juice to cocktail shaker. Shake And strain then garnish with with Angostura Bitters, Lemon Wheel and Fresh Grated Cinnamon over crushed ice.

Backyard Lemonade

The Botanist Gin - 1.5oz.

Fresh Lemon Juice - .75oz.

Fino Sherry - .75oz.

Simple Syrup - .5oz.

2-5 Halved Strawberries

5-7 Mint Leaves

Combine The Botanist Gin, Fresh Lemon Juice, Fino Sherry, and Simple Syrup into cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake.Strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with Mint Leaves and Halved Strawberry.

The Gentle Lady

1 oz St. Germain Liqueur

1 oz vodka

.5 oz lemon juice

.5 oz simple syrup

ORGANICS by Red Bull Tonic Water

Ginger Sage Cocktail

1 bottle of Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG

Simple Syrup

1 cup honey

3 cups water

2 whole pears, peeled, cored and diced

1 large piece of ginger, peeled and diced

20 fresh sage leaves (plus more for garnish)

 

In a saucepan combine the honey and water over medium heat and bring to a light boil. Turn the heat down to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the honey has dissolved completely. Add the pears, ginger and sage leaves. Simmer, stirring occasionally until the mixture has reduced by 1/3 (about 15-20 minutes). Remove from heat and let the mixture steep for an additional 10 minutes. Strain the syrup into a large canning jar or thick glass bowl. Discard the ginger and sage leaves. Place a few pieces of the cooked pear into each stemless wine glass followed by 2 tbsps of the simple syrup. Add Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG and serve.

Ginger Snaps

1.5 oz gin

.5 oz lime juice

.5 oz agave syrup

ORGANICS by Red Bull Ginger Ale

Yuzu Citrus & Soda

 

1 ½ parts EFFEN Yuzu Citrus Vodka
3 parts grapefruit flavored club soda
Grapefruit slice (for garnish)
Build over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.

Just Peachy

Mount Gay Black Barrel - 1 Bottle

Fresh Lime Juice - 9 oz

Simple Syrup - 9 oz

Soda water - 12 oz 

2 Peaches (thinly sliced)

Mint sprigs

 

Add Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, Fresh Lime Juice, Simple Syrup and Peaches to punch bowl. When ready to serve, top with Soda Water, add ice and garnish with Mint Sprigs and Lime Wheels.

St. Germain Prosecco

½ part Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG

1/2 part St. Germain

2-3 drops Angostura Bitters per glass

Lemon slices as garnish

Pour St. Germain into wine glasses, add drops of Angostura bitters. Top with Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG Garnish with a lemon slice.

Pina Paradiso

1.5 oz tequila

1 oz pineapple juice

.5 oz lemon juice

ORGANICS by Red Bull Tonic Water

Pining for Rum

2oz Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum

4oz Pineapple Juice

Mint Sprig

 

Add Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, ice and top off with pineapple juice in a highball glass. Garnish with Mint Sprig.

Coco Solstice

The Botanist Gin – 2oz

Fresh Lime Juice -- .5oz

Coconut Water – 2oz

Soda Water – 2oz

 

Add The Botanist Gin, Fresh Lime Juice and Coconut Water to a shaker. Add ice and shake. Strain over ice and top with Soda Water.
