Beyoncé is currently performing in one of her most talked-about stadium tours, and while some of her fans have been loving the elaborate show she’s curated, others haven’t been so pleased to see her young daughters involved in the massive production.

The pop star started her highly anticipated country-themed ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour this week and has been making headlines for several reasons, from her sparking cowgirl costumes to her elaborate choreography. However, she’s receiving significant backlash after it was revealed that her new shows involve her daughters, particularly her eldest, Blue Ivy, who has become a very integrated part of the nearly three-hour-long performances as a featured dancer. Read more about the controversial tour below.

Beyoncé’s Teenage Daughter, Blue Ivy, Joins Her On Stage As A Dancer For The ‘Cowboy Carter’ Tour

The singer’s 13-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, who she shares with husband Jay Z, has been appearing in the public eye a lot more often than she did as a little kid. She first began performing alongside her mother during her record-breaking Renaissance World Tour in 2023, stepping out on stage as a backup dancer at only 11 years old. Since then, she’s become a popular member of her record-breaking mom’s team, two-stepping beside her during the NFL Christmas Day game halftime show last year, and now, joining her as a featured dancer on the ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour.

The stadium tour kicked off in Los Angeles this week, and the “Texas Hold Em” singer put on a theatrical concert with costume changes, special effects, moving set pieces, and more, creating a nearly three-hour-long production. While many would argue that Beyoncé is the star of the show, some of the most headline-making moments in the set are when Blue Ivy takes the stage as a dancer with several solo moments, strutting in bejeweled corsets and performing intense choreography.

At another point in the long show, the Grammy winner also brought out her youngest daughter, Rumi, who is seven years old, for a brief cameo. Although she sings about being her children’s “protector” on stage in one of her songs, some internet users are calling out Beyoncé for involving her kids in her massive tour, considering how young they are.

Internet Users Accuse Beyoncé Of 'Exploiting' Her Teenage Daughter By Letting Her Dance On Tour

Although it is unclear for how long Blue Ivy and her siblings will be making appearances on the stadium tour, fans and other internet users aren't sure they feel that her being a part of the very public and strenuous process was a good parenting choice on the singer's part.

When videos and photos of the 13-year-old strutting down the catwalk stage at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in an embellished leather corset and cowgirl-inspired pants, people began to weigh in on how they thought her involvement in the show was an example of her "growing up too fast."

One X user posted that they felt Beyoncé was "exploiting her underage children" upon seeing them join her on stage. When Instagram users saw videos of her dancing on Instagram, many expressed that they thought being on tour was "too grown up" for a 13-year-old.

"She should be in school," commented an Instagram user on a video of Blue Ivy dancing.

More users echoed similar resentments, wondering what effect the tour life has on the teenager's education, writing they were surprised she was performing on a "school night" and that her parents should "let her be a kid."

"Let kids be kids," added another Instagram user.

While the mom-of-three has yet to comment on featuring her girls in her show or how often they'll be making appearances, she certainly seemed very happy to have them on stage with her during the first night of her country-coded tour.
