Prince Charles and Prince William were among the senior royals resuming public appearances this month. As the U.K. government started lifting some restrictions, the royal family has resumed their charitable duties. Even though they are attending more public events, they are practicing safety measures and social distancing.
However, Queen Elizabeth who is now 94, is unlikely to be seen outside her home for many months. Many speculate that she will not step out for an official public duty until the infection numbers decrease significantly or in the fall at the earliest.
The U.K’s Sunday Times reported, “The Queen won’t do anything which goes against the advice of people in her [age] category, and she’s going to take all the appropriate advice. There are discussions what we could do and couldn’t do come October.”
Until then, it looks like Queen Elizabeth will continue to conduct her business via video conferencing and by phone. She’s maintained a full schedule and been keeping herself busy as usual since the pandemic force most to work from home. The Queen is currently staying at Windsor Castle along with her husband, Prince Phillip. She’s been sheltering there since March.
