Bruce Willis has stayed out of the spotlight for the most part since his heartbreaking diagnosis in 2022. Nearly three years ago, Willis’ family revealed that the actor has frontotemporal dementia, a progressive form of dementia that causes the frontal lobe and the temporal lobe of the brain to atrophy, often resulting in loss of communication skills.
Willis’ wife, Emma Heming Willis, just posted a video to Instagram of her husband’s first public appearance since his diagnosis, greeting first responders in Los Angeles. For longtime fans of the Die Hard actor, this was quite the uplifting video. Keep reading for more information.
In the video, which can be found on Heming Willis’ Instagram page, Willis is wearing a New York Yankees hat and shaking hands with a Los Angeles police officer. Though there’s music playing over the video (“Going to California” by Led Zeppelin), Willis can be seen nodding and smiling as the officer chatted.
Emma captioned her video, “Spotting a first responder, Bruce never missed a chance to show his gratitude with a heartfelt handshake and a “thank you for your service.” Yesterday was no different,” adding red, white, and blue hearts to the end. Willis’ youngest daughter with ex-wife Demi Moore, Tallulah, commented on the video right away, writing “This makes my heart so freaking full!”
