'Ozempic Face' For Leo?
On the red carpet, fans couldn't help but notice that DiCaprio looked a lot thinner than he has in recent years. While this could be the result of a diet or lifestyle change, DiCaprio likely hopped on the Hollywood trend of taking Ozempic, a weight loss drug designed to help individuals with diabetes. However, as more and more celebrities have started using it, it's becoming easier to tell. One of the most obvious tells? What fans are calling "Ozempic face."
"Ozempic face" describes the facial changes like sagging skin or a hollowed-out appearance that often comes as a result of rapid weight loss. Based on Leo's recent nearly 30-lb weight loss and his now-slimmer looking physique, it's certainly not out of the question.
Plastic Surgeon Weighs In On 'Ozempic Face'
Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich, a facial plastic surgeon in New York, says that it's probable. Leo's new look is a result of Ozempic usage. "His facial features exhibit noticeable volume loss, particularly in areas such as the cheeks and midface," he said. "This type of change is often associated with overall weight reduction, which may occur naturally or as a result of medications like Ozempic that promote significant weight loss."
"Leonardo DiCaprio has clearly slimmed down, and that is not easy to accomplish as people get older," he continued. "Weight loss becomes more difficult due to changes in metabolism, hormones, and insulin resistance. A medication like Ozempic could be part of the picture, since it helps improve insulin sensitivity, which naturally declines with age."
