Donald Trump Writes A Controversial Truth Social Post About Rob & Michele Reiner's Deaths
This week, a tragic Hollywood incident has people around the world reeling, as last night, on December 14th, it was revealed that famous director and actor Rob Reiner, as well as his wife, photographer Michele, were found dead in their California home in what is being reported as a homicide.
Rob is best known as a director for his major films, The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally, and more. He's also acted in a series of popular movies and television shows, and met his wife, Michele, on the set of When Harry Met Sally, which reportedly inspired him to rewrite its famous 'happy' ending. They had been together for over 30 years and were 78 and 68 years old when they passed. Investigations into their murders are still underway, yet it's being reported that one of their children, their 32-year-old son Nick, has been placed under arrest as a suspect.
Aside from his work, Rob was also a known activist and was vocally against President Trump and his policies, which is likely one of the reasons why the president was quick to put out a post about him on Truth Social that is stirring up a loud reaction from the internet.
"A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS," wrote the president. "He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!"
The Internet Slams President Trump For His 'Disgusting' Post
Once the president's Truth Social post was released, fans of the Reiners, as well as numerous pop culture enthusiasts around the world, began fuming and responding to it on social media platforms. Many are offended by the president's reaction to the crime and deaths of the two entertainment industry figures, and numerous internet users are calling for an apology and shaming him in the meantime.
"Imagine making a family tragedy about yourself," wrote an X user, as another commented that the president "had to make it about himself."
"What an awful, disgusting comment to make about a couple who did nothing but entertain and make people happy!" added a user.
"This isn't commentary, it's misinformation," commented another.
"Turning a tragedy into a personal rant, tasteless and unnecessary, even by Trump standards," added a user.
The 79-year-old has yet to make any other statements on the director and his wife. Still, for now, numerous media outlets and people around the world are continuing to comment on his post, unable to get over the way he handled the news.
