5 Easy Smoothie Recipes For When You Don't Feel Like Making Breakfast

Smoothies don’t have to be complicated in order to be healthy. In many cases, it takes just a few great ingredients — like fresh fruits veggies, nuts, and seeds — and one powerful blender to whip up a smoothie that contains a meal’s worth of protein, vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Whether you’re always rushing in the morning and never have time to make a proper breakfast, or would love to simplify your smoothie-making routine, there’s always enough time to make a good-for-you smoothie. Here are five easy smoothie recipes for when you don’t want to make breakfast in the morning. All of these smoothie options consist of five or fewer ingredients and they’re all delicious and nutritious.

Peanut Butter And Jelly Smoothie

 

This recipe for peanut butter and jelly smoothies packs in plenty of protein, thanks to smooth and creamy peanut butter. And instead of using actual jelly, which is filled with sugar, it makes great use of two fiber-rich foods: dates and raspberries, which are also loaded with antioxidants. You'll need just five ingredients to create this smoothie:

 

2 Tablespoons Peanut butter

1/2 Cup Raspberries

2 Dates

1 Cup Almond Milk 

1 Banana

Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie

 

This smoothie tastes like a minty dessert, but in reality, it contains mega amounts of protein, fiber, antioxidants, and nutrients, courtesy of spinach and cacao nibs. You can substitute cashew for almond milk and feel free to not grind up the cacao nibs all the way in order to achieve a crunchy consistency. Here's what you'll need:

 

1 Cup Cashew milk

1 Banana milk

1/2 Cup mint leaves

2 Tablespoons cacao nibs

1 Cup Spinach

Cherry-Coconut Smoothie

 

This three-ingredient cherry-coconut smoothie is refreshing, has just 115 calories, and fights inflammation in the body that can lead to illnesses and diseases like type 2 diabetes. The only ingredients you'll need to make this beverage are: 

 

2 Cups pitted cherries (frozen) 

1 Cup coconut water

1 Tablespoon lime juice

Avocado Smoothie

 

Avocado contains heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids and plenty of vitamin E for gorgeous, radiant skin. Because it's so creamy on its own, there's no need to add too many ingredients to the mix to get an incredible smoothie — not when these three suffice:

 

1 Avocado

2 Frozen Bananas

14 Ounces Milk

Skinny Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie

 

This smoothie sounds delicious — and it is — but it also contains a wealth of vitamin C, folic acid, potassium, and calcium. And, the cherry on top (or the strawberry on top, in this case): you'll need just three ingredients:

 

1 Cup strawberries (frozen, unsweetened) 

3/4 Cup nonfat or non-dairy milk

1 Teaspoon Butter extract

Truvia or sweetener (Optional)
