9 Things Grooms Forget To Do The Night Before Their Wedding

June 6, 2017 by Linda DiProperzio

While a wedding is thought to be the bride’s day, the groom also plays an important part in this special event. Here are nine things he wants to make sure he doesn’t forget to do the night before he says I do.

Many grooms might decide to wing it up at the altar. Don’t—not everyone is a master speaker and there is likely to be a lot of unexpected emotion when you’re looking into your bride’s eyes. So be sure to prepare for this moment the night before by putting your written vows in a safe place so they won’t be forgotten.

There’s more than just shaving for the big day. Trim those nose hairs, clip your nails, take care of the unibrow if needed—you get the idea.

You don’t want to oversleep, so set the alarm and don't hit snooze! Staying in a hotel? Request a wake-up call as backup.

Whether the best man is in charge or your keeping them with you, make sure the wedding rings are in a safe place so they won’t be forgotten.

If you’re giving your bride a gift for the wedding day (and we highly recommend it!), make sure it’s beautifully wrapped and the card is filled out so it can be delivered to her in the morning.

If you don’t get home too late from the rehearsal, try to spend some quality time with your groomsmen before the whirlwind of the wedding day begins.
It’s okay to grab a beer or two, but it’s not a good idea to get wasted the night before your wedding. It’s going to be a beautiful—but long—day and you don’t want to face it with a hangover.
Hang up your entire outfit—suit, shirt, tie—in one place so you have everything on hand in the morning. You don’t want to waste time looking for anything that morning.
Get as much shuteye as you can the night before the big day so you’re at your best!
