Nobody can deny that Gwyneth Paltrow is one of Hollywood’s truly ageless celebs with a super-enviable toned physique. The 50-year-old Oscar-winner has opened up about her diet and exercise regime a few times over the past few years, and we always like to hear what she has to say – even if sometimes it’s a little bit controversial!

While the Goop founder previously faced a lot of backlash for talking about her very restrictive bone broth diet, some of her other weight loss secrets have been a little more positively received.

Gwyneth Paltrow Previously Faced Controversy For Her Bone Broth Diet

During her In Goop Health – The At-Home Summit virtual event in 2021, the Sliding Doors actress confessed that she gained 14 lbs during the Covid-19 pandemic, and also had a lot more inflammation in her body as a result of her poor diet and actually contracting Covid-19. She revealed that Dr. Will Cole, a Pennsylvania-based functional medicine practitioner and bestselling author, helped her lose 11 lbs with the help of a temporary bone broth diet and intermittent fasting, but it was met with a lot of controversy.

Two years later, the ageless actress opened up about her diet on Cole's podcast The Art of Being Well – and it sounded a lot more sustainable, and thus received a lot more positive feedback from fans! Not only did she reveal that her new way of eating helped her lose weight, but it had incredible health benefits too, including lowering inflammation.

Gwyneth Paltrow Says She Eats 'According To Paleo' And Gets 'Clever With Carbohydrates'

"So, I've been working with Dr. Cole to really focus on foods that aren't inflammatory… so lots of vegetables, cooked vegetables, all kinds of protein, healthy carbs to really lower inflammation, and it's been working really well," Paltrow said on the podcast at the time. "This is, you know, based on my medical results and extensive testing that I've done over time."

The Shakespeare in Love actress said she starts her day off with coffee, celery juice with lemon or lemon water at 12pm, followed by soup or bone broth most days. (So, she still appears to be eating her controversial bone broth, but is now adding a lot more into her diet too.) In the evening, the Great Expectations actress said she tries to eat "according to Paleo, so lots of vegetables," which she said usually come from farmer's markets and local farms. She also eats "any kind of fish or birds" for protein.

"We try to get a little bit clever with carbohydrates, like sweet potato noodles, or we make tacos with the Siete grain free tacos, and cassava," she revealed, adding that her meals are full of flavorful ingredients and her friends have no idea "they're eating healthy food or that it's Paleo."

This echoes what she said in a 2022 Goop article, which read: "I maintain a very clean diet. What's turned out to be best for me is [the] paleo [diet], so I'm grain-free, sugar-free, eating lots of vegetables and clean protein. Lots of fish, lots of olive oil."
