Get Well Soon! Halsey Just Announced A Possible ‘Break’ From Music Amid Her Ongoing Health Crisis

Halsey has always been open and honest with fans about her chronic illness and the toll that endometriosis takes on her physical and mental health. The “Without Me” singer (real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, 27) was first diagnosed with the disease in 2016, and is now updating her fans on life after surgery and the understandable reasons why she may need to take a break from music and touring in the near future.
The musician (who just released her fourth record, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power in January 2022) gave her 29.3 million Instagram followers a heads-up regarding possible tour date cancellations on her story last week. Halsey wrote that she has been “in and out of the hospital for the past few weeks” due to some “new challenges” and explained that she has been “trying my best to keep things normal” but her body is “putting up a strong protest and ultimately demanding that I slow down or stop for real this time.”
“Chronic illness is a complex mystery,” she continued, “If I am or have been MIA please don’t take it personally. I am doing the best I can under difficult circumstances. Sharing this for my fellow spoonies. All that glitters.”
Earlier last month, Halsey noted that she had to leave the GRAMMYs early due to not feeling well, and discussed the importance of listening to her body on social media.
The “Bad at Love” hitmaker gave birth last July to her first child, son Ender Ridley Aydin, who she shares with her boyfriend, screenwriter Alev Aydin. The pregnancy, she has noted, was dubbed “euphoric” and a miracle after she underwent multiple surgeries for endometriosis years before.
“Halsey is so strong and we will always support our fave singer through this time,” wrote one fan on Twitter after the pop star’s announcement. “Halsey you are an incredible mother, please take all the time in the world that you need for yourself,” wrote another user as someone else added, “you deserve it.” We couldn’t have said it any better.
