“Eating healthy doesn't have to be miserable, make it fun with creative and yummy meals,” said Simmons. “The scale is not important. A lot of women, including myself, have once stepped on a scale every single morning and when you step on a scale every single morning, well, you’re not going to see a lot of changes.”

Instead, Simmons suggests weighing yourself about once a month.

“When you don’t sleep enough, you tend to overeat,” warns Ho. “Researchers from Columbia University released a study of 26 healthy men and women that showed that sleep deprived people (4 hours of sleep nightly for 6 nights) ate more calories than well rested people (9 hours of sleep nightly for 6 nights). Disruptions to sleep stimulate the hormone ghrelin, which then makes you hungry.”

So make sure you get the recommended 8-9 hours of sleep per night, otherwise, you could be hurting your fitness goals.
