The biggest fashion news of 2018 is finally out! They can’t keep it secret any longer: H&M just revealed that they have picked Jeremy Scott of Moschino for their next designer collaboration. Congrats!
Who is Jeremy Scott?
The designer, who counts Madonna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus as fans and close friends, is known for his quirky, pop-culture inspired designs featuring iconic American logos and brands (think entire lines dedicated to McDonald’s and SpongeBob). His runway shows are always a big draw for celebs and influencers alike, and Jeremy has previously collaborated with MAC Cosmetics, Ugg and Adidas.
“It’s a very prestigious honour, really a huge deal, so I was very flattered and excited,” Jeremy says of being tapped for the line.
When will the line be available?
H&M confirmed that the complete collection will be available online and in select H&M stores on November 8, 2018. Let the countdown begin!
For reference on in-store availability, past designer collaborations have appeared in about 225-250 H&M stores worldwide (222 stores carries the Erdem women’s collection, for example). To find out whether your local store will carry the line, go to H&M’s store locator, enter your zip code, then filter by collaborators when Jeremy Scott’s name becomes available.
What will it look like?
So, what can you expect from the line? Based off Jeremy’s past use of bubblegum imagery like Barbie, SpongeBob, My Little Pony and more, we’re guessing that it’s going to be anything but boring. And Jeremy is giving a few key hints about what it will include (we’re guessing/hoping there will be tons of SKUs!). “It should feel a little like a greatest hits collection,” Jeremy confirms. “But I promise it will still be new, still feel fresh.” So, does that mean some of his more iconic pieces like those Moon Boots or McDonald’s iPhone cases mixed in with newer ones?
Only time will tell what the complete collection will include, but we have a sneak peek for now: to accompany the announcement this weekend, H&M released a first look of the line on none-other-than Gigi Hadid. Hadid was seen wearing a button-down shirt (styled over one shoulder, of course) featuring a throwback CD print and thigh-high black boots with a Moschino chain:
How much will it cost?
The full-priced Moschino line is priced $95 for a cell phone case to $2,595 for a cross-body bag shaped like a biker jacket. No word yet on how much the lower-priced H&M line will cost–but for reference, Kenzo x H&M was priced $24.99-$549 and Erdem x H&M was priced $44.95-$449.
Though you’ll have to wait until the fall to shop the entire line, we’ve included some Jeremy Scott Moschino designs that you can shop now right here:
