The Presidential Inauguration was a star-studded event with celebs like Lady Gaga and Demi Lovato showing off their pipes to celebrate the momentous occasion. But it was Jennifer Lopez that raised eyebrows when the 51-year-old singer made an odd reference to her song “Let’s Get Loud” in the middle of her performance.

Lopez was brought in to perform “This Land Is Your Land” and “America The Beautiful,” but in the middle of her first song she paused and sang the words “let’s get loud,” referencing her own 1999 hit. Unsurprisingly, viewers were both amused and annoyed that Lopez would plug her work during this event.

One Twitter user wrote, “literally only j lo would sing a remix of let's get loud and america the beautiful,” while another said, “i kept joking that J Lo should sing let's get loud, legit fell out of my chair when she did.”

While J Lo is widely appreciated for her musical talent, fans seem to have mixed feelings about adding her own personal touch to the patriotic song. Lopez has been releasing new music over the recent months and just came out with a skincare line, so it’s only natural to want publicity. But the ode to “Let’s Get Loud,” was not welcomed by many viewers of the inauguration.

Lopez sounded wonderful during her performance and her all white outfit was to die for, but the general consensus is that she should have stuck to the basics when it came to “This Land Is Your Land” and “America The Beautiful.” Either way, it was certainly a day everyone will remember!
