Jelly Roll Breaks Down In Tears After Being Invited To Become A Member Of The Grand Ole Opry
Most avid country music fans are aware that one of the highest honors a musician can receive is becoming a member of the Grand Ole Opry, a historic venue that's housed some of today's country legends, from Dolly Parton to Carrie Underwood.
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, has been making his way as one of today's most recognized country artists, going viral numerous times over the last year and keeping fans on their toes with not only new music but also his impressive and headline-making weight loss journey.
Recently, he sat down for an interview with famous media personality Joe Rogan for an episode of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, and received a special message from one of his favorite musicians, country star Craig Morgan, at the end. In a viral clip from the podcast, Craig, whose music inspired Jason to stay strong while he was behind bars years ago, says to the singer in a video message, "Jelly Roll, you're officially invited to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry. It's an honor to say welcome to the family, brother."
The invitation and honor had the "Son of A Sinner" artist break down in tears, as he ripped his headphones off his head and buried his face in his hands before embracing the podcast host in a hug. He later wrote on Instagram that he was "honored beyond words."
Fans React To Jelly Roll's Opry Invite On Social Media
The moment the Tennessee native received his membership invite from Craig Morgan, the footage of him breaking down afterwards quickly went viral on social media, as his fans and other country music lovers were very proud of him. They left adoring comments under reposts of the special moment on social media platforms like Instagram.
"An honor to watch you soar to legend status," commented a follower.
"Oh man, that got me," added another. "The world made one of the good ones famous!"
"Congratulations, Jelly Roll, you absolutely deserve it," wrote a fan. "Crying with you, buddy. You're inspiring all of us dreamers to keep at it. Soak it up, embrace it, and continue to chase it."
"I'm so emotional!" added another.
We're excited to see what Jelly Roll might have in store for his next performance at the Grand Ole Opry as an official member, but for now, it looks like he's taking in the moment.
