The Internet has been dragging Jessica Simpson lately. The 37-year-old was recently age-shamed for wearing pigtails and came under fire for showing her butt in an Instagram post celebrating the birthday of her husband, Eric Johnson. So of course, people are finding fault with the star's latest family photo from Halloween.
In the Instagram shot, Jessica's normally blonde daughter, Maxwell, 5, dressed up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast sporting brunette locks. Though the five-year-old totally pulled off her costume, Simpson's followers were quick to call out the singer for dyeing her daughter's hair, saying that she was wrong to do so.
“Please don’t tell me she dyed her daughter’s hair!!” one commenter wrote, while another asked, “Why would you color your daughter’s hair at such a young age????????????”
One user was really sad to see Maxwell's blonde locks go. They commeneted, "Is Maxwell’s hair dyed? Her blonde hair was so beautiful!!!” We agree! Her natural hair color is gorgeous!
Thankfully, Maxwell's hair isn't real; a source revealed that Maxwell's new hair color is only temporary. “It was a spray in color for her costume, not permanent dye," they told Us Weekly. Wow, Simpson really had us fooled! It looks SO real, doesn't it?
So, do you think Jessica's latest post was really worth all the criticism? Or, do you agree with the commenters that dyeing a five-year-old's hair is wrong? Let us know where you stand on this in the comments below!
