The Internet Reacts To Kate Beckinsale’s ‘Beyond Ridiculous’ Layered Sheer Outfit She Wore While Shopping: ‘None Of This Makes Sense’

Shortly after almost breaking the internet with what fans declared an “over-the-top” outfit at a Los Angeles Lakers game alongside her daughter, Lily, Kate Beckinsale is once again back in the spotlight for her sartorial choices.

The 52-year-old Serendipity actress got people talking – for good and bad reasons – after she was papped shopping at John Varvatos in Los Angeles wearing a completely see-through outfit, with some fans even expressing concern for her wellbeing. Check out some pap pics here. 

Fans have been worried about the actress for some time, but even more so after her mom passed away in July this year after a battle with cancer.

The Pearl Harbor actress didn’t dress down for her shopping trip, and actually looked like she was ready to walk a red carpet in a long, sheer white dress. She preserved her modesty by wearing a black bra and underwear underneath, as well as some sheer polka-dot tights.

She accessorized with some black platform knee-high boots and a white handbag with a thick gold chain. For jewelry, she lived by the ‘more is more’ mantra and went for layers of necklaces of varying lengths, statement earrings, a chunky ring, and a bold, thick bangle.

Her hair was styled in a look that was part Cindy Lou from The Grinch and part 1960s bombshell, finished off with a black bow. Subtle it was not!

To say there were mixed reactions on social media would be an understatement. Some people disapproved of the look, as others felt quite the opposite and were actually obsessed with it. Other fans were simply worried about her wellbeing.

“Beyond ridiculous,” slammed one fan on Instagram. “None of this makes sense to me. Not the hair, tights, dress, shoes, jewelry, none of it,” criticized a second, as a third said: “Turned heads for all the wrong reasons.” “Tell me you’re trying too hard without telling me you’re trying too hard,” mocked a fourth, as a fifth said: “It’s embarrassing.” A sixth simply thought the look was “weird,” a seventh called it “horrible.”

“She looks incredible,” thought an eighth, in contrast. “Love this outfit,” concurred a ninth, followed by the heart eyes emoji, as a tenth said: “You [are] very beautiful and sweet.” “Eccentric… and still lovely,” wrote an eleventh, as a twelfth complimented: “I love her! She is so fabulous!”

“Is she ok?” asked a thirteenth fan, as a fourteenth replied: “I saw this pic and said the exact same thing. So sad!” A fifteenth begged: “Please someone help her so sad this is what grief can do.” “Worried about her mental health. There are signs,” a sixteenth added, followed by the red heart emoji.
