Keith Urban Is 'In Hiding' After Nicole Kidman Filed For Divorce
A few weeks ago, the internet was shocked after inside sources confirmed that famous Australian couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were splitting after 19 years of marriage. Although the couple still has yet to release a statement, as soon as media outlets began reporting their separation, records revealed Nicole had filed for divorce from the country singer.
The news was quite surprising and unexpected for many of their fans, especially since they've spent the last two decades raving about each other and opening up about their seemingly happy relationship. They also share two daughters together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, who are 17 and 14 years old.
Since the announcement of their impending divorce, rumors and stories have been coming out on Keith, with many spreading word that he might've been seeing other women behind his wife's back whenever he was on the road, more recently, his 25 year-old guitarist, Maggie Baugh, who he's since dropped from his current tour, the "High And Alive" tour. Other than that, he is staying out of the spotlight as soon as he's off stage, with new inside sources saying he's essentially "in hiding."
"Things are just too awkward right now, and Keith just doesn't have the confidence to face all the press," the insider told Woman's Day. "He's got paps hunting him down, and he's no longer taking direct calls."
Sources Say Keith Urban Is Feeling 'Embarrassed' Since The News Of His & Nicole's Split Broke
The timing of the former couple's breakup was seemingly quite overwhelming for them, as the Babygirl star had Fashion Week appearances to make and the "Somebody Like You" singer was in the middle of his big tour. Therefore, being in the spotlight makes things even more difficult, and sources have revealed that the attention is taking its toll on Keith.
"Part of him is embarrassed to show his face on a red carpet until things settle down with his divorce," an insider told the above publication. "The last thing he needs is to overshadow his new show with all his personal issues."
Allegedly, the singer also has some concerns that with all the rumors about him cheating flying around, his reputation being at stake will affect his band and crewmates on tour with him. The same goes for those working on the new show he's involved in, The Road, where various up-and-coming musicians take turns opening for him on tour as part of a competition.
"He knows he's being painted as the bad guy, and he doesn't want that to be the focus of The Road – he owes that to the contestants and crew," continued the insider.
